Markus and Alex will be the test group for this project and record every vertebrate that is seen by either of us into the google sheet that shows the species count on the home page. In the spirit of making this accessible to everyone, we will be the only ones fiddling with spreadsheets throughout the year. The main portion of our data will be on iNaturalist and should all be collected into this project, but not everything we see necessarily has an observation to go with it. In the cases where you have seen something interesting but did not get a photo or recording of it, we have a google form that you can fill out for noteworthy sightings that didn't make it onto iNaturalist. At the end of each month our complete list will be updated, with species seen by Markus and Alex in dark green and species that have not been seen by us but have been seen by someone in the community highlighted in light green. At the end of the year that should give a complete list of all the species that were seen throughout 2026 and hopefully every one of us will have gained some insight into the lives of species that we were less familiar with.
